This multi-mountain access from your front door gives you the ultimate in versatility. For example, you may wish to warm up on the gentler slopes of Peak 9 in the morning, ski home for lunch, and then test your black diamond legs on Peak 8 in the afternoon. Want to go snowshoeing or hiking? The Ski Home Chalet is adjacent to the  national forest with private access to a quiet mountain stream, 5-minute walk to a peaceful lake with lofty peaks in the background and unlimited hiking possibilities; 10 minute walk to the town shuttle; Peek-a-boo views of Mt. Baldy and the 10 mile range; sunny southern exposure, and plenty of off-street parking.

What do these location amenities mean to you? When you are on vacation, location is everything. For a large party, slopeside and walk-to-town-shuttle convenience is very important. It means that all members of your party can come and go as they please, without the hassle of coordinating schedules, arranging rides, etc. It also means the kids can hop on the slope and ski to the chairlift without having to cross any streets, allowing mom and dad to sleep in without worrying about the children's safety. Being next to the national forest is also wonderful, because you can snowshoe, cross country ski, fish, hike or bike to your heart's content by simply walking out your back door. There is an alpine lake within a 5 minute walk where you can enjoy a beautiful sunrise, watch the fish feed, or just enjoy the views. If you want a very private setting, there is a small stream and pond adjacent to the property for you to reflect, meditate, or just relax. You can feast on mountain or forest views from the comfort of your living room, or from its many sun-splashed decks and balconies. Enjoy the morning sun from the living room and family room decks; the afternoon sun from the kitchen and bdrm #5 decks; and a summer sunset from the master bedroom balcony.

Perched nearly 10,000 feet above sea level high in the Rocky Mountains, the Ski Home Chalet is an architectural delight. From the private waterfall in front to the post and beam construction, this wonderful residence sits very comfortably at the end of a private road.

The interior of Ski Home Chalet is full of mountain charm.  The entrance to each room is graced with knotty alder 2-panel arched top doors.  Open beam construction; built-in custom cabinetry; pine, tile and luxuriously carpeted floors all await your enjoyment. The  massive stone fireplace towers over the living room, and hides a nicely situated wet bar.  The gourmet kitchen has custom cherry cabinetry, granite slab countertops, and professional-grade appliances. Especially nice is the  intimate breakfast nook overlooking the pond.

Each of the seven bedrooms is a suite, with its own private bath--some with walk-in closets, some with vaulted ceilings, and even three with their own private balconies (master bdrm and bdrms #4 and #5). Sleeping 20 persons comfortably, you can also dine, relax and play without feeling crowded. The formal area of the house (living, wet bar, dining, and nook offer the adults a getaway for an evening of reminiscing about those parallel turns you carved so beautifully while the kids can be entertained by the nanny in the recreation complex on the lower level, with projection TV, game table, and kitchenette facilities. Still others may want to spend a quiet evening in the reading nook or the work area catching up on email. For your convenience, a laundry room is provided on the lower level.
